Hospital for Special Care and the community as a whole mourn the loss of two wonderful individuals who have supported us for so many years in so many ways. Angelo Tomasso, Jr. was the last titan of New Britain business and industry, and a man whose personal philanthropy was second to none. Angelo and his wife Joy (herself an HSC volunteer for 40+ years) are among the largest individual donors in our hospital’s history.
Victor Fumiatti was a generous benefactor of HSC and a longtime volunteer at the HSC Equipment Exchange and Golf Classic. Along with his wife Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (a former chairwoman of our board), Victor treated everyone in our hospital community like family – and his passion for our patients and our mission knew no bounds.
In addition to their tireless community service, both Angelo and Victor also served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
